Judge Renée Hardin-Tammons was appointed Associate Circuit Judge in March 2017 by Governor Eric Greitens. In August 2019, she was appointed Circuit Judge by Governor Mike Parson. She received her Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1986 and 1989 respectively.
Judge Hardin-Tammons has served as a trial attorney for the St. Louis County Public Defender and the
St. Louis County Counselor. She served as a municipal and provisional judge for more than 17 years in various municipal courts including the City of Berkeley, St. Louis County, Moline Acres and Woodson Terrace. She was in private practice for nearly 19 years prior to her appointment to the bench.
Judge Hardin-Tammons has served on the St. Louis County Municipal Court Improvement Committee, St. Louis County Municipal Court Steering Committee, Supreme Court Disciplinary Committee, Missouri Arts Council and the Missouri Cultural Trust board. She has been certified as a mediator and arbitrator.
She is a member of the Missouri Bar, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Mound City Bar Association, St. Louis County Bar and Women Lawyers Association. She serves on the board of directors for the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Court Association. She serves on various committees including the Supreme Court Committee on Practice and Procedure in Municipal Divisions and the Task Force on Criminal Justice.
She lives in St. Louis County.
